So I came back from lunch and try to boot up, and I get "lsass.exe - Unable to locate DLL. The dynamic link library MSASN1.dll could not be found." I click ok, then another window pops up telling me the laptop'll shut off in one minute, and it gives me a handy little countdown. All before I log in.
It's frustrating, let me tell you. Now I'm working on a public terminal. Hopefully, the damn laptop will boot if I leave it alone for a while - that's worked in the past.

Is it working yet?
I just tried again, and it is still dead.
I'll give it some more time, try again. If not, I think I might be able to boot it off a cd and try to recover it that way.
Luckily, I'm not in classes and I don't really need the laptop for the work I do - public terminals function fine for that. Maybe I can get the little guy back in working order by the time fall classes start up.
