NPR runs down the costs of producing material for Rihanna. Not surprisingly, she doesn't have a coterie of trusted producers. Rather, the label sets up a camp to create her album.
Amusing: the article notes the defensiveness about labels bribing radio programmers - the standard line is, "Oh, that used to be the case, but now it's different."
Which is something I believe I've heard more than once before.
