Hearts and Minds

Wouldn't you think some stuff, like calling men "women" to try and pump them up, is culturally specific and therefore not that useful in these circumstances? Also, if I had really divided loyalties, does this speech motivate me to join the US cause wholeheartedly?

For me, I find this sort of speech terribly demotivating. After two sentences, I'm thinking "why do I have to listen to this douchebag screaming at me?"

The kicker, though, is when the soldier tells the cops to grab a bunch of guns and enter into armed combat. The cops ask for equipment, and are given a quick "fuck you, man up" in response.
