Chocolate Covered Fraud

Dallas Food Blog has done a fascinating ten part series on the marketing of Noka chocolates. The chocolates are overpriced and misleadingly marketed. Noka implies that they make their chocolate when in fact they buy it and resell it at a markup of many thousands of percents. Noka chocolates cost more per pound than foie gras, caviar, Kobe beef, and sterling silver. The blog does some fine investigative work to uncover who actually makes Noka's chocolate and along the way gives you some history and production of chocolate. Chocolate, as you no doubt know, is the most delicious substance on the planet.

It's a ten part series, but don't be intimidated - they're fairly short parts. I suggest you start with part one.
