Justin Long is Gone from Mac Ads

There's been a second stunning and long-overdue firing. Radar Online reports that Justin Long is no longer going to appear in the Mac vs. PC ads. Radar suggests the following reason why:
Virtually everyone who watches it comes away liking the "PC guy" while wanting to push the "Mac guy" under a bus.
Amusingly, Radar talked to Long's rep for a comment, and the rep said "Justin's a movie star, not a commercial guy." I guess it depends on one's definition of "star."

Justin Long proved his "star" status in Dodgeball. End of story.

I never remember who he was in Dodgeball. I remember Ben Stiller, Rip Torn, Vince Vaughn, that guy from Newsradio, and that's it.

Apparently JL is also a mainstay of the Jeepers Creepers franchise, as well.

My heart hurts.

How do you not remember Justin Long from Dodgeball? He was also in ED and made the last season of that show worth watching.

I will miss those ads. They are the only ads I ever watch, searching back on my TiVo to make sure I see them all.

He is a star nonetheless but how big is still a question, I guess, for some...? I could care less and I am sure the PC guy could care less as well because he is just happy to have been insulted on television as many times as he did, I would be....Later...

What's this? They are losing these ads? I was starting to become compelled to buy a Mac, too! Actually, I kinda was.

Those ads are more entertaining than 90% of the shows on tv. If I could TiVo them specifically, I would. I am truly mystified that they would fire that guy.

Justin Long went to my high school, and his brother Christian was my year. He was small. And pale.
