Arrrt!

So it looks like I'll be going to see the Dale Chihuly exhibition at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The guy does lots of ornate and often organic looking blown glass art. When this event was first suggested to me, the name seemed familiar. Now, I don't know jack about the art of blown glass, but I swiftly realized that there had been just recently a Metafilter thread about the artist. It took some ferreting around the web, however, to discover the artist's dark secret:
